🥂 Cheers to Avoiding Fake Fun
Calling out the Disney adults & music festival lovers

Listen to the newest episode of Cheers to Growth, Stop Engaging in Fake Fun: Why Most Social Outings Feel Empty.
Look at your calendar right now. When is the next day where you have zero plans? Nothing going on. Nothing to do.
Are you going to fill that day up when the next invite comes in? Or is it intentionally free to give yourself a break?
Now think about this.
For the next social outing you have planned, why are you going?
Have you thought about it well before agreeing to attend?
Are you going because you are genuinely excited to do the thing with the people you’re planning to spend time with?
Are you going just because you want to get a good photo for Instagram to show off how great your life looks? Or because you feel like you have to and don’t want to disappoint the people who invited you?
This type of questioning never crossed my mind before I moved to a more natural environment, further away from friends and family.
With our conversation today, we’re unpacking all the fake fun we used to engage in and why we no longer put ourselves in those places that are out of alignment with our values.
And as scary as it sounds to have no plans and no one to hangout with, learning to enjoy your day alone is such a power move! 💪
Because when you are perfectly happy at home, you are no longer victim to people and places that don’t align with you, freeing space to attract the people and experiences that do.
A life of pretending is not worth it.
So all of these fake experiences (TopGolf, mini golf, axe throwing, amusement parks, sporting events, going to the movies…) of course, they leave you feeling empty. Because they aren’t real.
All of these manufactured activities are psychological delusions that we have been propagandized into for big industry profit.
It’s time to think deeper about where you spend your time and attention and make sure that you are living in a way that truly feeds your soul. Because at the end of the day, nobody has to live with your life choices but you.
This Week’s Recipe
What’s more fun than enjoying chicken strips, fries, and ketchup with ZERO guilt or post meal pain??
This is the way all food is supposed to be! When you avoid fake fun, I bet you’re also the type of person who avoids fake food. It just makes sense.

🍟❤️
Chicken Strips, Fries, and Ketchup
What you’ll need:
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 egg
- 2 slices toasted sourdough
- 3 large potatoes
- Tallow
- Salt, pepper, paprika
- Plus homemade ketchup ingredients: Fresh tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, paprika, clove
Directions:
1. Peel and cut potatoes into fries. Place into a big bowl and fill with ice water. Let sit in ice water for 30-60 min.
2. While the fries sit, make homemade ketchup following this recipe.
3. Coat fries in melted tallow, salt, pepper, and paprika and spread across a baking sheet. Bake on the top rack of the oven, flipping once the bottoms get crispy.
4. Cut breasts off a whole chicken. Store the rest of the chicken for a future meal.
5. Cut breasts into strips.
6. Coat chicken strips in egg then transfer to a bowl with blended toasted sourdough crumbs. Coat in the breadcrumbs before moving to a plate.
7. Heat tallow in a large pan.
8. Cook breaded chicken strips in tallow, flipping halfway through.
9. Plate and enjoy :)
